In 2010 Simon Lenoir was managing a dive centre in Thailand. As the operation grew, so too did the administrative overhead of running the business. This was compounded by the increasing need to source bookings online and by the growing complexity of managing disparate distribution channels for his product.

In 2011, Simon partnered with Hugo Sterin, an experienced software engineer, and together they set about building a reservation platform designed specifically for the tour and activity sector.

Simon met Les Szekely soon after the launch of Rezdy in 2011. Having supported both Hotelclub and Siteminder, Les recognised the potential for tours and activities to follow the online distribution model already established in the hotel sector. Les provided seed funding for the business in 2011 and led two subsequent angel investment rounds in 2012 and 2014 respectively.

As Rezdy grew, Simon went on to raise several larger institutional rounds. In 2015 the company completed a $3 million Series-A round led by Bailador Investment Management. In 2017 EVP invested $1.5 million and in early 2018 EVP invested a further $3.5 million.

Today Rezdy operates in 90 countries and processes over US$1.2 billion in travel activity bookings every year.

“The EVP team have been on the Rezdy journey since 2011, having backed the company over five funding rounds. EVP are active investors in the real sense. They have a deep understanding of our business and have contributed enormously to Rezdy’s success over the years.” – Simon Lenoir, Founder

With a team of 50 across Australia and the US, Rezdy has established a leading position in the sector. The company offers three distinct products: a booking software for operators to manage their business, a channel manager for customers to distribute products online, and a marketplace which connects tour and activity operators with agents around the world.
